BALL --- Breckinridge County friends of Mr. and Mrs. Hardy BALL of Rossie, Iowa, will be interested in the account of their golden wedding celebration given in "The Spencer (Iowa) Times". The open house celebration took place in the afternoon and evening of December 3, 1950, and many friends visited them during those hours. Their son, William BALL, came from Montana, and their other son and (three) daughters, Sherman BALL, Mrs. Harley WALKER, Mrs. C. L. FREBERT, and Mrs. Ray NELLIS, from their homes in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. BALL were united in marriage on February 3, 1934 in Fairfield, Kentucky in Nelson County. She is the daughter of the late Miles and Kate CRUME McMICHAEL, of Cox Creek, Kentucky. Mr. BALL is the son of the late William and Sophia HALL BALL, of New Haven, Kentucky. The BALLS moved to Breckinridge County in 1952, and have lived at their Webster home since. He is a retired farmer. They have eight children, and all eight attended the celebration of Mass along with 15 of their 17 grandchildren. AND MRS. ALLEN BANDY CELEBRATE 60th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY --- Mr. and Mrs. Allen BANDY celebrated their 60th anniversary on May 13. The BANDYS were married on May 13, 1943 by the Reverend M. P. Hunt in Louisville. Mrs. BANDY "Midge" was born and raised in Chicago and Riverside, Illinois. She worked for seven years as bookkeeper/secretary to the manager in the Riverside--Brookfield High School after graduation from there in 1938. Mr. BANDY was born and raised in Lodiburg. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II, spending 22 months in Europe with the 3rd Armored Division under General George Patton. When he returned in 1945, the couple moved to Louisville. Mr. BANDY retired from the Skilton Construction Company in 1983, having worked there for 34 years. The BANDYS have two daughters: Juanita B. SHARP of Louisville and Mrs. John "Janice" JOHNSON and two grandsons: Jody JOHNSON and Jeremy JOHNSON and his bride, Tara JOHNSON. A. BASHAM and Mrs. BASHAM residing in the home of their daughter, Miss Myra BASHAM, successful school teacher at McQuady. Mr. BASHAM, a Magistrate for many years and a well-known farmer, has reached the age of 93 years, and his helpmate is now 96. She was the former Miss Laura ANDERSON of Hancock County. They have been married 72 years, and have had only one death in their immediate family, this a young granddaughter, a number of years ago. Mrs. BASHAM remains active about the home, but he has been in ill health for some time. They have two daughters, Miss Myra BASHAM and Mrs. Homer MATTHEWS of Cromwell, Kentucky, and two sons, Mr. Ura BASHAM and Mr. Marvin BASHAM, both of this county. The family has reached out to five generations, and an unusual feature is the fact that there are four successive generations of men in the family, all of whom are married. These are: Squire BASHAM Ura BASHAM, his son Charles BASHAM, his grandson Kenneth BASHAM, great grandson; all of whom reside in or near McQuady. The elder of the group is a Senior Deacon in the Pisgah Baptist Church, where he attended regularly for many years. Squire BASHAM and Mrs. BASHAM have three grandsons residing in Cloverport, and a fourth in Lewisport. These are: James, Lewis, and Harold BASHAM here and Bobby BASHAM of Lewisport. BASHAM (Lola & Will) will celebrate their sixtieth Wedding Anniversary, July 16. They were married on this date, (July 16), in 1948. They have one son, Ron (Cassie)MARSHALL, and one deceased son, Bill BASHAM; and two grandsons, Jeff Marshall of Evansville, Indiana and David MARSHALL of Indianapolis, Indiana.
