The first wedding of record on the 150 plus rock formation was the ultimate setting for the marriage of Sharon CHAVE and Josh WATSON. Panoramic scenery of the Rough River Lake, and fall foliage was the background decorations for the Reverend Charles Minks, long time neighbor of the Watsons, who performed the ceremony. Sharon's parents are Greg and Kay CHAVE of Wooster, Ohio (the Seat of Wayne County), and Josh's parents are Dennis and Dottie WATSON of Falls of Rough. Sharon was escorted by her father, Greg CHAVE, and her brother, David CHAVE as the guitarist, and a friend of Sharon, Tressa YOUNG played "Nothing Fancy". Tressa's beautiful voice and talented guitar playing topped the couple's perfect Autumn afternoon wedding day. The Calligrapher- Renee PORE The couple's reception was held in the Breckinridge and Grayson Rooms at Rough River State Resort Park. A sit down buffet meal was served complemented by the three-tiered Faux Fondant, square wedding cake adorned with Fall colored silk leaves, and the chocolate groom's cake with a house and "SOLD" sign on it, was made by the groom's mother, Dottie WATSON. An evening of dancing and celebration followed the meal. Music provided by Gary Tom SMITH. The Rehearsal Dinner, prepared by the groom's mother and the bride's mother, was served by Thurman and Bridget DUNCAN in the "Real Deal Realty Conference Center" at the base of Sand Knob, after the rehearsal. The wedding attendants and out-of-town guests continued the festivities around the outdoor stone fireplace reassembled by the groom and his dad. Friends of the groom's family, Karen and Ricky FENTRESS and sons, Matthew and Ryan, did countless tasks to make the outdoor rehearsal and wedding a success. Josh and Sharon spent seven days in a private beach house on St. John's Island (an Island in the Caribbean Sea). The couple will reside in Falls of Rough. CARTER AND MISS WHITEHEAD MARRIED --- A wedding which came as a complete surprise to their friends was that of Miss Louise WHITEHEAD and Thomas A. CARTER which was solemnized at 7:30 o'clock last Tuesday evening in the Parish House of St. Rose (Catholic) Church (in Cloverport). The Reverend J. T. Neeson officiated. It was later learned that this was the second ceremony as Mr. and Mrs. CARTER were married last November at Rockport, Indiana (in Spencer County), and kept their marriage a secret. They left here Wednesday morning for Louisville, where they stayed until Sunday when they returned here to make their home. Mrs. CARTER is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward WHITEHEAD.
