MARY IN THE WOODS ---      To those who have been listening to their chimes, the early days of Autumn seem to have brought about the ringing of the wedding bells for several young people, who are either residents or native of Breckinridge County.      On the evening of July 31, (1931), the Reverend Hoyt S. CANARY, the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. CANARY of Stephensport, and Miss Norma C. DeWITT, both of Cincinnati, Ohio.  The Reverend P. H. CANNON, Jr. are making their home on the CANNON FARM near Mattingly, following their marriage, which took place Saturday afternoon, September 24, (1949).      The ceremony was solemnized in the home of the Reverend and Mrs. L. L. Dillehay at Maceo, Kentucky (in Daviess County), with the Reverend Dillehay officiating.      The bride, who  was the former Miss Marjorie Marie ALLEN, wore a gray gabardine suit dress, with a gray hat, and black accessories.      Following the wedding, the newlyweds went to Renfrow (should be spelled Renfroe) Valley where they had a honeymoon cottage, and spent a week there.  Returning, they went to the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett ALLEN of Addison for the weekend, and then to their own home on the farm.      The bridegroom returned recently from 27 months spent in Tokyo with the U. S. Army.  He is the younger son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. CANNON of Axtel, who gave over their farm at Mattingly to their two sons.  Mr. and Mrs. Dennis P. "Billy" CANNON occupy a pretty little cottage across the road from the R. E. CANNON, Juniors.      On Thursday, September 29, Mrs. R. E. CANNON, Jr. was twenty one years old, and in celebration of her birthday and her recent marriage, she was the guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower, given that evening by Mrs. Clarence HARPE and daughter Miss Gladys HARPE, and daughter-in-law Mrs. Billy HARPE in the Harpe home at Addison.      A pretty birthday cake graced the center of the dining room table, and after refreshments were served, the bride was kept busy opening the many presents that were piled high on a table, and handed to her by JoAnn and Nell, the attractive little daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth COLEMAN.
